Report: Titans Coach Brian Callahan Expected To Hire His Father Bill To Rebuild Offensive Line

Nashville — And the pupil may become the teacher. According to a rumor out of Cleveland, Tennessee Titans coach Brian Callahan is hiring his father Bill,

who is in his sixth decade of coaching football, to rebuild the Titans' offensive line.

According to Cleveland.com's Mark Kay Cabot, Bill Callahan will leave his position with the Cleveland Browns to join his son in Nashville,

marking the first time an NFL head coach has recruited his father as an assistant.

If the father-son reunion occurs, Bill Callahan will be his son's third coaching hire this week. On Wednesday,

the Titans hired the former Ravens defensive backs coach as their defensive coordinator. Tyke Tolbert was appointed on Thursday as a wide receiver coach.

Last season, the Titans averaged 17 points per game on offense. Many commentators chastised the offensive line, which allowed 64 sacks.

Titans quarterbacks Ryan Tannehill and Will Levis frequently appeared uneasy in the pocket, while running back Derrick Henry lacked consistent running lanes

Andre Dillard and Jaelyn Duncan, the Titans' left tackle duo, allowed 29 of the 64 sacks, and nearly every mock draft so far has the Titans selecting a lineman with the seventh pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
