‘Outlander’ Season 3 Premiere Recap: Wounded Jamie on the Battlefield and 1940s Pregnant Claire

In the third season of "Outlander," the devoted couple Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan) are no longer together because she time-travelled to Boston in the 1940s while he is still fighting in 1746

 As is customary for the show, we hop around in time while the split couple deals with brand-new circumstances and threats that are considerably greater than in previous seasons.

Following the Battle of Culloden in 1746, corpses are scattered across the terrain. James Fraser is one of those who is still alive.

Jamie experiences memories to the gory and brutal battle in which he engaged Black Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies) in hand-to-hand combat while Cumberland's men steal weapons from the dead. 

Jamie appears to have suffered severe injuries, and it appears that Black Jack meets his maker,

albeit there is a delay in receiving official word of his passing. Jamie sees Claire approaching him in a vision as well, but sadly for him and some of the audience,
