Lions' Jared Goff sends 'proud' message to Detroit following playoff elimination

The Detroit Lions' season ended in devastating manner last weekend in the NFC Championship game.

The Lions led 24-7 at halftime against the #1 seeded San Francisco 49ers

but the second half was a different story, and the Lions lost 34-31. 

It was a tough way to go out, but this was the best football season Detroit has seen in a long time.

Jared Goff, the quarterback, is a major reason for Detroit's success. 

Goff was dealt to the Lions for Matthew Stafford a few years back, and he helped the team achieve its best season in over 30 years. 

The old Lions are gone, and Goff sent a message to Detroit fans, telling them that the best is yet to come.

"So proud to be part of this special group of guys this year," Jared Goff wrote on Instagram.

"We are grateful to the world's best fans for their unwavering support and affection throughout the season. 

Everyone expected their offensive coordinator, Ben Johnson, to take over as head coach because he is one of the league's greatest coordinators.
