Reeves' income understandably rose as the John Wick franchise matured, both critically and commercially.
Reeves' base wage for the original 2014 film ranged between $1 million and $2 million, while Chapter 2 paid him up to $2.5 million.
Given the way the film ended, Chapter 4 was supposed to be Reeves' final appearance as the revered hitman.
However, Lionsgate revealed that John Wick 5 was in the works, subsequently confirming that writing for the impending sequel had begun.
Along with John Wick 5, the eponymous series is increasing its scope, with a recently announced multimedia partnership giving Stahelski more creative control over it.
There are plans for other John Wick spinoff shows, as well as an anime series.
