Darius Rucker Arrested for Drug Charges

Country star and Hootie & the Blowfish singer Darius Rucker was arrested on drug charges in Williamson County, Tennessee.

Rucker faces charges including simple possession, casual exchange, and violation of registration law.

He was released on a $10,500 bond on the same day as his arrest.

Rucker's attorney, Mark Puryear, stated that Rucker is fully cooperating with authorities regarding the misdemeanor charges.

Despite the legal issue, Rucker is scheduled to embark on a tour with Hootie & the Blowfish called Summer Camp With Trucks starting May 30.

The tour, featuring fellow band members Mark Bryan, Dean Felber, and Jim “Soni” Sonefeld, marks their first full tour since 2019.

In December, Rucker received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, a moment he described as surreal and beyond his dreams.

Rucker expressed gratitude for his journey from South Carolina to achieving such recognition in the music industry.
