Lainey Wilson talks about heartbreak in her music, but in real life, she has found long-term love with Devlin "Duck" Hodges.
The country singer introduced her audience to Hodges at the 2023 ACM Awards, but their affair started two years earlier.
Wilson confirmed their timing in June 2023, implying that she nearly blew her own cover in April of that year while giving a nod to her partner on stage.
"What's funny is literally a couple weeks before the [awards] show, we had played out in Pittsburgh and me and my band,
we all wore Duck Hodges jerseys," Wilson stated in an interview with The Bobby Bones presentation. "And so that kind of started a few rumors."
Hodges played quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers and several other NFL teams until retiring in 2022.
His moniker "Duck" originated during his collegiate football career and has nothing to do with the fact that he is also a duck hunter.
"I'll tell you, he is good as gold," Wilson stated of Hodges in June 2023. "Supports me and would never interfere with anything I'm attempting to do.
