Travis Released From Hospital, Entering Physical Therapy

Country superstar Randy Travis was released from the hospital and will undergo physical therapy after a heart attack and stroke last month.

“Thanks to all the fans and friends for your continued prayers and support as Randy continues on the road to recovery,” his fiancée Mary Davis wrote Wednesday.

Travis had brain surgery less than a week after being hospitalized in Texas for congestive heart failure and was under strong sedation until recently.

Davis expressed gratitude for fan support earlier in July.

“I know that those are prayers that have helped mend his heart along with the skilled hands of the physicians and doctors and nurses,” she told ABC News.

I know Randy feels all of those. Doctors, nurses, and admirers touch him. That affected his family and friends. He sees, hears, and understands.

He's miles beyond where we anticipated he would be a few days ago.

”Travis had 20 studio albums and over 50 Billboard Hot Country Songs successes since becoming famous with Storms of Life in 1985.
