In his response to the Ja Morant gun video, Shaquille O'Neal emphasized the need of having a good deal of common sense.

Shaquille O'Neal, a former NBA player, hasn't held back in his criticism of Memphis Grizzlies player Ja Morant . 

After his most recent off-court incident that went viral on Instagram live video.  

During "NBA on TNT" on Tuesday, O'Neal remarked, "You got to have enough common sense to know that wasn't going to go how you wanted it to go." 

"Rap is not what you do. He continued, saying, "You're an NBA player," and that Morant "put himself in this position." 

The Grizzlies star is taking a break after his gun-wielding video from outside a Denver pub went viral.  

Both Colorado police and the NBA are presently looking into the situation for any possible legal violations. 

In a statement, Morant expressed regret for his behavior and announced that he would be taking a leave of absence. 

He was initially suspended by the Grizzlies for two games, but there is currently no word on when he will be allowed to return.
