Randy's wife, Mary, spoke openly about his illness when he suffered a serious stroke in 2013.
He was diagnosed with aphasia, a brain lesion that results in a loss of speech comprehension and expression.
Travis, a singer noted for his booming voice, is having difficulty speaking. According to Mary,
the fact that so many country music giants are coming together to commemorate his career means a lot to him.
